Mo Money Mo Anime

Since people are getting their stimulus checks and with all this new income that will hopefully help people. I figured that if we were going to spend it all on anime or related merchandise what could we get with it? Maybe you were looking to buy the new Asuka Langley figure for only $708, or perhaps it was just the right amount of push you needed to get the Shinobu Oshino figure for just only $2,500. Either way, we can all agree that no matter what we spend it on, it’ll be worth it. While I did mention above that I hope people who need the money do use it for food, rent, etc. this is just a simple “what if” post where we can imagine if there weren’t any bills to pay how would I spend it.

The first thing I would probably get would be the Nisekoi False love complete box set for just under $200. Usually, I wouldn’t be able to spend that much money on anything anime related due to adulting, but hey one can dream, right? I love the series and have read the manga multiple times, but something about owning the complete series on Blu-ray just keeps calling my name. While I’m at it why not buy the complete manga series as well? If anyone loves a series, they should support the creators by their means, and personally, if you like any manga over the anime then I won’t argue with you because that’s your opinion.

Next, I’d most likely get the Ouran High School Host Club Manga Box Set, I mean its just a few dollars over $100 for 18 volumes. It’s a classic series and beloved by many and rightfully so since it was one of the first series I ever read. While I’m not hugely into manga anymore, I will still read a few series and be amazed by the story and the artwork… and wish I could draw something like that. Perhaps my fondness for this series is because when I traveled to the Kanto Region in the early 2000s with my father for his work, this was the first thing that was introduced to me outside of Pokémon.

If I could spend the whole amount on just anime, I’d more than likely get my favorite anime series on Blu-Ray/DVD, and probably even some on my “want to watch” list. I’d love to know what others would buy with it if you could use it all on anime-related merchandise. Would you use it to buy all the manga or DVDs you were going to save up for? Were you going to save it up for a Cosplay that you’re working on, or perhaps going to a convention when this COVID thing is over?
