0.5 Star– An anime that was abysmal, one that the viewer should never waste their time on. The anime in question had a combination of no plot, terrible animation, bad artistic style and has no entertainment value to a potential viewer. The anime in question has failed in whatever the goals of the original creation were and should be never be given the light of day again. Only given to the worst of the worst.
1.0 Star– Awful anime, almost nothing interesting at all about it. It didn’t make me want to erase the previous minutes spent watching from my mind but let’s not discuss it further than that if we don’t need to. Reachability is very low and though it may have had very few if any high points the anime did have something that saved it from being atrocious.
1.5 Stars– Bad anime, but there are some interesting things in it. Too many things went wrong to salvage the worthwhile pieces. Usually given to anime that has one or two solid points either in the Story, Art style, Animation Production, but has too many negative aspects that overshadow the decent portions of the anime.
2.0 Stars– Halfway decent anime, though it may have its flaws. Lots of aspects of the anime went wrong, or there was a smaller number of critical flaws. Not good, but a small amount of enjoyment was had. The bad far outweighed the good. Barely watchable, definitely a skip. Weak. Not bad, but still boring.
2.5 Stars– Decent anime, might recommend depending on preferences but don’t expect anything special from it. May have had a few good moments but overall was fairly boring, or uninteresting. Some enjoyment was had, but not much. Anime that receive this rating is below average but isn’t problematic to the viewer.
3.0 Stars– Average, it had problems, but it was enjoyable and entertaining. Had some good/entertaining moments, though might have been a bit too dull or boring at spots. Enjoyment was had, but not consistently. While parts of the anime were great it had a decent amount of problems but didn’t hurt the piece in a way that made it unfavorable.
3.5 Stars– Good anime, had some good moments in it; the rest was just normal. Good all-round experience, or strong enough in its core factors that it overcomes its flaws. Was missing something to give it a lasting impact, and/or had a few weak points. Enjoyment was had pretty consistently.
4.0 Stars– Very good, entertaining watch that keeps the viewer continuously interested. It might have had some flaws, but my enjoyment far exceeded them. Made a lasting impact and is memorable to me. Usually these are anime that the viewer may have loved but had bad endings, or anime that are good but don’t have anything to give it that extra 1 star.
4.5 Stars– Excellent anime. An awesome, entertaining watch that was extra memorable! It made the viewer feel great things and had something extra that would potentially affect them. Amazing though it had some very minor flaws. The viewer won’t be able to stop talking about it or thinking about it. An instant classic, a must-see for all anime fans.
5.0 Stars– Masterpiece, usually given to the best-of-the-best pieces of anime. If an anime receives a 5-star rating it has no flaws but can be watched over and over again with the same enjoyment. Any anime that receives this is a must-see for anyone who enjoys anime no matter what the genre and time will cement it into the cornerstone of any fans’ heart.
